These are my 2 retired greyhounds, Buddy and Nubi, that supervise all the work in the garden and yard…you can bet when I am outside digging, planting, weeding, & mowing…for sure, they are ….SLEEPING!
They probably deserve it, after all, they probably get so beat just watching all the moving around that for them napping feels best.
The pachysandra makes a great bedding for Nubi; and heck you never know when a big wind will come along and blow the tarp way, so Buddy ensures a steady hold.
As for me, I have B.S. Exercise Physiology from way back in ’87; in the late 90′s became a Certified Pilates Instructor and have been growing my fully equipped movement studio, Pilates for Sport, in Bucks County, Pa. since 1999.
We use an integrative, versatile and sensible approach to teaching folks a better way to become stronger, move functionally and live the best they can in a pain free body.
I enjoy any and everything that is done outside that promotes playful, experimental, experiential free range movement.
We have 2 outdoor ‘pits’ at the studio that serve to provide an assortment of stations to move the body and explore. We love to use all parts of the natural environment such as rocks, tree stumps, dirt pits, tree trunks and the uneven grassy knoll.
You’ll always find some odd pieces like wood posts, a disassembled flag pole, manila ropes, cinder blocks, sawhorses, and sandboxes to name a few.
We use these to learn how to get stronger, become more flexible and train the body to do what you ask of it in an environment without walls…oh, how fun!
My team and I are passionate, cultural creatives when it comes to movement, exercise and experiential fitness design for the yard and garden.
We are dedicated to helping others increase their awareness that fitness is truly about one’s overall relationship to the environment, rather than something that is done as a ‘have to’ routine.
Once you step into this new paradigm, the sky is the limit!
We think you’ll see why as you explore our ideas!
